Each month Joe will provide a new set of Trick Shots for you to learn, to keep your friends baffled and amused. There are also some shots for you to practise to improve your game, with tips for beginners as well as more advanced players.

Note: Netscape Navigator will not print the text accompanying these shots correctly. We recommend the use of Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 or later.

Coin In A Glass.

Place a 10 cent piece on the cushion. (N.B. It must not be overhanging). With a glass on the rail play at medium pace the coin should flip into the glass

Note: A whisky glass is best.

Walk The Dog.

Hold two cues tightly together and balance two balls underneath. By lifting and lowering the butts the balls with go back and forth.

The Shunt Shot.

By placing two cues firmly on the table and holding the butts with one hand and then place some balls on top of the cues. If the cues are placed correctly the balls should shunt into the middle pocket.

Note: The tip end of one cue should be approximately 10cm past the other

Potting Drill.

This is a very difficult exercise that only the best of players will be able to complete. Pot the balls in succession, red-black-red-black, starting with the red closest to the black.

The reds will obstruct each other so that they must be potted in sequence, alternating across the table. If you can pot four reds and blacks you are doing quite well, if you can pot all nine reds you are well on your way to becoming a champion.
